Garden Gate Delivery Fee Lowered to $5

January 25, 2009

I feel a bit sheepish because of how infrequently I make use of our news section, but think this is definitely worthy of news.  We're lowering our delivery fee to $5!  Garden Gate is just about to turn one year old and I'm proud and amazed at how well we're doing.  We want to make the best foods (local!) available to as many people as we can and lowering our delivery fee gets us one step closer to that goal.  We've also raised the minimum order to $40 which we've found most customers more than meet.

How does all of this affect you?  Let us know!  We want to make sure we're serving you as well as we can.

New York Times Praises Evans Creamery

February 22, 2008

This week the NYT began an article about artisan dairy products by praising butter from one of our milk suppliers, Evans Farmhouse Creamery. "Ms. Saxelby, who owns Saxelby Cheesemongers in Manhattan, said that for all the butter she had eaten in her life, 'I had really never had butter before – this is butter.'"

Evans is a comparatively small organic creamery that specializes in milks, cheeses, yogurts and their now-famous butter. They make products that remind older milk drinkers what milk used to taste like and give the rest of us a chance to taste real, clean milk– perhaps for the first time.

Our Website is Live!

February 4, 2008

After months of work by Ancient Wisdom, our web designers, Garden Gate has a beautiful (and highly functional) website! The website will be our main communication tool for customers who want local foods, health foods and delicious foods delivered right to their front door.

Our first deliveries will be on Tuesday, February 19 with a cut off date of 12:00 noon on Sunday the 17th.

We’re very excited to start meeting you all, so please feel free to use our feedback form to let us know how we’re doing and what you’d like us to carry.
